Dr. Pin Han Chen is an academic professor based in Taichung, Taiwan, working at the intersection of circular economy, environmental systems, and process-oriented approaches to resource recovery. During her academic journey in the environmental science field, she has sought to connect circular economy thinking with carbon management. Recognizing this trend will become an emerging necessity as humanity faces the global threat of climate change, her broader goal is to contribute research that supports real change and wider adoption of sustainable practices in industry. This motivation drives her work on waste valorization, integrating conventional metallurgical methods with emerging tools such as AI-assisted decision systems, low-carbon process optimization, microbial metallurgy, and data-driven environmental assessment.
In addition to academic research, some of her collaborative projects address practical waste challenges from a systems perspective and explore alternative pathways when existing industrial technologies are difficult to scale. She also works on carbon reduction strategies, with particular attention to low-carbon process design for agricultural and industrial systems. Through these efforts, Dr. Chen remains open to interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers, industry partners, and stakeholders working toward solutions for circular resource management and sustainability.

陳品涵博士現任靜宜大學永續環境與智慧科技學士學位學程助理教授,研究領域橫跨循環經濟、環境系統工程及資源再生製程。陳博士的研究重心在於鏈結循環經濟理論與碳管理實務,並從系統層級深入探討資源循環、產業運作與環境治理間的交互關係。面對全球氣候變遷與資源永續的嚴峻挑戰,她致力於研發具產業實用性的技術方案,期許將研究成果落實於產業轉型。
在研究方向上,陳博士以「廢棄物資源化」為核心,除運用傳統冶金與材料處理技術外,更積極導入 AI 輔助決策、低碳製程、微生物冶金及數據分析導向的環境評估方法。透過跨領域技術整合,陳博士嘗試在環境工程與材料循環間開拓新徑,使資源回收不再僅是末端處理,更能進一步創造材料價值與應用轉型。
除了學術研究,陳博士亦長期投入產學合作計畫,協助產業克服現有技術規模化之挑戰,並在成本與環境效益間尋求最佳替代路徑。同時,她也專注發展農業與工業系統的減碳設計及環境影響評估。陳博士秉持開放合作的態度,期許透過與學界、產業及公部門的跨域交流,共同推動循環資源管理與社會永續發展之願景。
